Imagine yourself standing alone on a beach. In the distance, out over the water are two other islands that you know all too well. The seawater glimmers in the high noon sun. It is peaceful here. The gods smile down on you and yours with welcoming arms and warm days. Behind you is a dense jungle but it is only an illusion for behind that small strip of dense trees lies an island that is as diverse as the equines that live on it. Being a volcanic chain of islands, an archipelago if you must, there is a mountain that reaches up to the place of the sun. Around this is a large valley that contains various streams and lakes and copses of trees. Now as we look out from these fields, they scale a slope up, towards the dense forest of vines and tall trees. Ahead of this lies the beach that we had been standing on, alone. The other islands that we can see clearly across the water are all connected in some way to this island that you happen to be on. You are curious but remember something someone once told you… Never, ever do we mix with them. What were they talking about?
For years the islands lived in peace together, never bothering one another unless they needed help. The societies grew apart, the animals growing more apart then they once were. Now, these species used to be all the same, one large group left here by a wayward explorer. Now, on the eastern isle, the Paints rule their mountain and worship their own god. On the western island, the Darqs who have claimed this place worship their goddess and rule over their valley. On the Northern isle, the Grays rule the land and worship their god. This is the one we stand on and now, we can see them coming for us. Which one are you? Will the northern isle accept you, or send you on your way? Come and look into the mirror. See your true colors…
