Denali
A sunday, the day of rest. Dane hated coffee, espresso, mocha or anything that had to do with the grotesque brown bean that to her smelled amiss. It even made her gag. Chi tea was definitely the way to go in the situation of entering a coffee house. She opened the door and a warm blast of air from the fire place made her shiver. The shop was filled with the unescapibly, indefinite human sounds. A girl laughing, the scooting of chairs and the buzz of a milk steamer. Her stilettos clicked across the dark oak floor as she made her way to the counter. Denali loved the sound; it had an essence of making her feel devious and important. Approaching the counter, a young blond haired boy stood behind the counter with a green apron and a black beanie that displayed a dancing coffee cup. She leaned on the silky marble counter, letting her indie bangles click together and bunch up around her tiny wrist. Another sound she loved. Denali sketched the menu. What may I get you Miss? The boy interrupted her thinking with a cocky smile. Dane returned the smile by flashing her whites and brushing her fingers through spikey red hair. A banana chi tea, merci. It sounded discussing to some but to her it was a simple delicacy, just like chocolate covered crickets in the Philippines. Her blue optics narrowed at him. He was actually funny looking in a peculiar way, his gold hair reminded her of a golden retriever’s coat. His brown eyes were deep set inside his skull and his lips always seemed pursed. The tip jar was decorated with: again, the dancing coffee cup and various pressed plants and beads. Cramming a dollar bill in the overstuffed tip jar, she retrieved the tea but lingered by the counter. Another tip dear, Proactiv never hurt anybody. Slumping into a red velvet booth, she sipped the tea and brought her feet up to rest beside her. Romeo was in the pasture and she didn’t have any lessons today. Life was superior. Will was sent to go to the coffee shop his cousin who was visiting, had spotted. He hated the fact that he was being sent to go get it, there was nothing he despised more than coffee, it was, quite revolting to him. Will had been jogging for the most part, trying to get there was quickly as he could, so he could get back faster. He sighed, opening the door to the coffee he lined up behind a girl about his age, maybe a bit younger by a year or two. He sighed while he waited for his turn, glancing at his cell phone to check the time every so often. He listened as the girl in front of him spoke to the young man behind the counter, laughing to himself about her comment. Finally it was his turn to order, quickly he did so and once he received the drink started heading for the door when he felt his heart flutter. "Oh no." He growled turning around to look for somewhere to sit for just a moment. The only open spot was a booth, beside the girl who made the silly comment. He debated asking her if he could sit there a moment, or just plopping down on the floor.
Will glanced down, the floor was sickeningly dirty, it looked as though it had not been swept in a year. He moved hesitantly toward the girl, stopping in front of her, holding the coffee in one hand and rubbing at his chest with the other, his expression slightly pained. "Excuse me, miss.. Mind if I sit a moment?" He asked feeling stupid, this was the last thing he wanted, to go to the coffee shop, for his heart to spazz, and to sit across from a random stranger. He smiled slightly, "It'll only be fore a minute.. until my heart.. calms down." He trailed off, the fluttering in his heart continued, making him yearn to be able to sit, but he did not want to be rude. So he waited for answer.

Denali
The lighting in the shop was calming and romantic. Perhaps where a young couple would go after a good Robert Redford film. Sighing she noticed the man at the counter but thought nothing of it. He seemed a bit older and was much too handsome for his own good. Pictures of Dylan drifted into her mind and she quickly brushed them away. The previous love affair was with a older man by the name of Dylan. It was a temporary love, the kind you clean up with a mop and bucket. Nothing against men or anything, it’s just Denali was sick of them. And girls were much more fun. Sighing Dane sipped her tea which was much cooler. It slid down her throat and made her arch her back by the intense run of warmth running until they reached the end of her nerve endings. The man at the counter seemed out of breath when he spoke to Denali. His muscular and chiseled hand lay tenderly across his chest like he was protecting his heart. At first Dane was confused, the man seemed sick. You don’t need to ask, go right ahead, she again seemed to sing the words into one melody. She was not tempestuous, not today. A faint smile passed over her expression and she batted her icy blue optics a few times trying to figure out what was going on. Denali sipped the tea and could feel the bag thump against the lid of the recyclable cup. She sighed. Are you ok hun? What’s thy name? Dane was now worried. The poor man could have a heart attack right here in the coffee house. Did she remember CPR? Oh shit! She reached out to gently touch his arm with her French manicured finger tips. Pulling away as to not push him, she waited for his reply. Her jaw was loose and eye brows stitched together in a worry some pout. Dane ran out of tea.

Will nodded and sat down thankfully, it was rather annoying.. His heart. As he sat there and tried to relaz he could feel his pulse going from a speeding beat down to something a bit more normal, every so slowly, however. He glanced at the woman and smiled softly at her, "Thanks," He spoke quietly as he turned his gaze to the floor, he could not handle the embarressment, it was funny in a .. well, embarrasing way. He sighed, testing his pulse quickly on his wrist, it was going to eventually reach it's normal, right? He looked up at her as she spoke, almost chuckling. "Name's Will, how about you?" He asked her name in return, ignoring her first question for a moment as he took a deep breath letting it out slowly. "I am fine, just.. I have these heart palpitations sometimes.. So.." He let his voiced trail off again as he glanced up at the girl, batting her eyelids at him.
He half grinned at her, letting his hands rest on the table he watched her a moment. He could not deny that she was pretty.. Beautiful infact but it would never happen between them, would it? He dropped the subject, focusing on his heart again, it felt normal now. Maybe he would just rest another minute. Will sighed again, htinking about his cousins and how he hated her at the moment, she always made him do these things. He rolled his eyes to the ceiling at his thoughts then returned his gaze to the table.

Denali She stared at him without a word, her forehead still in a state of dismay. He seemed to be calming down and pressing his fingers against his wrist. Good that seemed like an sign. That’s the one thing that she usually looked for first in looks, the hands. The eyes are deceiving, and hair is professionally made but hands are true beauty. Then of course personality. I’m Denali but you can just call me Dane. This time she flashed a full ear to ear grin. He seemed sane again. A song by The Vines softly played in the background of which she could not decipher. He spoke in slight fragments. Oh I’m sorry, is there anything I could do? Dane placed her head delicately in her palm and spectated the Will with some interest. Her bangles this time slid down her arm and bunched up at her elbow. He was quite good looking. With magnificent blue eyes and an industrial in his helix, perhaps a model even. She giggled at her externalizing. He was watching her. Nothing was going to happen, so why did her heart flutter? A coward when he was the one having the palpitations and was literally about to die I at the table. Slight exaggeration? She sighed and twirled her pinky finger around the rim of the empty cup, waiting for his response.

Finally his pulse was normal again but yet he sat to make sure it would stay that way. Will watched the girl as she spoke, her name was Denali. He grinned at her, thinking the name was pretty cool. "Denali.." He spoke quietly, almost to himself. "What a unique name." He smiled lightly at her, litening as she spoke again, he chuckled slightly. "Nah, I'll be okay.." He said lightly, trying to think of an excuse to be able to stay longer, unfortunatley for him there were none, so he just sat there, twidling his thumbs for a moment, glancing up at her, as she smiled hugely, it made him smile back at her. "Hey, wanna go for a walk.. or somehting?" He asked politely, he hoped she would say yes.
Will took out his cell phone as he waited for a reply, glancing at the time then remembering his cousin.. Oh well, she could wait. He stuffed his phone back into his pocket, checking his pulse again, it seemed normal and stable enough for now. He glanced back up at Denali, who prefered to be called Dane and grinned again, the name suited her well. A unique name, for a unique girl.
