JACQUELINE SCHMIDT Jacqui rested her head on her hands. Mr. Hofer never did manage to hold her attention for more than a few seconds. She liked the teacher, just not his subject. Geometry always came easily to her, and going over the same things again and again was boring.
The people around her opened their notebooks and began scribbling down the problem on the chalkboard. Jacqui copied them, although she had a totally different goal than figuring out what 2/3y=6x+.5 was in standard form. She ripped out a sheet of paper and looked around for someone who was equally bored.
Carefully, so as to not attract attention, she wrote a note: When are we ever going to use this? It's not like I'm gonna be a math geek when I'm older. Jacqui folded it up into a tight square and tossed it onto the desk of the person in front of her.
With nothing better to do until her note was (hopefully) returned, she copied down the problem and set to work solving it.

Kiara Linkon! Kiara had no idea what she was doing in geometry, since she usually ditched. But today when she woke up she felt like going to school. In her joyful mood she had pulled on red skinny jeans and a yellow zebra shirt. But she now regretted coming, Mr.Hofer the teacher was putting her to sleep.. maybe she could sneak a nap in this class. She scribbled down a few numbers, acting like she working on this problem but truthfully she had no idea what was going on.. she would probably fail this class. She reached into her black oversize handbag and pulled out her new purple ipod that she bought for times like this. Quickly she slipped one ear bud into her ear and the song Still Fly by Devil Wears Prada blasted in her ear. She knew she wouldn't get caught since her raven hair covered up her ear. THUD! Kiara looked to the left of her desk and saw a little folded up note. She reached for it and quickly unfolded it. It read.. When are we ever going to use this? It's not like I'm gonna be a math geek when I'm older. She laughed under her breath. Looked like she wasn't the only one in this class who thought this was boring. She grabbed her chewed up pen and wrote a reply. Hey I am a math geek! I find that rude.. Naw just messing with you! And i totally agree.. Mr. Hofer must have a stick up his butt or something She folded the note back up into a small square and turned around slightly, throwing the answered note back onto the girl's desk behind her, who's name started with a J or something.. she didn't quite know. She smiled scribbling some more crap in her note book.
