Tristan was dressed in his usually pair of well worn jeans, paddock boots and half chaps. His broad muscular chest and arms were exposed to the evil sun's rays as he led his large Hanoverian stallion towards the outdoor ring, fully tacked up in jumping gear. Tristan had tuned out the world by putting his iPod on full blast listing to Money Maker by Ludacris, just because he could.
Ticking Time, mainly known as Time, was Tristan's main project. Trist's other two horses were either younger than he wanted a horse to be when he showed them so much, and his Polish Arabian was a stud and no longer competed. He didn't really need three horses but he had them for the fun of it, Time was his main boy though Nurse and Manny got plenty of attention as well. Without a girl in his life Tristan had nothing to distract him and after Emily, that's exactly how he wanted things.
Opening the gate to the Outdoor ring Tristan led the large stallion in and then closed and latched the gate keeping a loose hold on Time since the horse was much calmer than some show horses Trist was used to. Once the gate was closed Tristan did a check of his tack and without bothering to take off his iPod or even turn the volume down he mounted up and settled into the saddle. He'd already set up jumps earlier, just taking the time to leave the ring and tack-up Time in between setting up and starting his ride.
Nudging time into a trot he and the stallion headed out along the rail, the wind tussling Tristan's hair since he was old enough to make his own choices and he'd decided not to wear a helmet that day.
Time was eager, Tristan could feel it in the gentle tug on the reins and the long trot he had going. "Settle down big boy, not like there's any females out here for you to be excited about." Tristan muttered and used a few half-halts to bring the horse a little more under control as he sat to the horses trot, back warmed by the sun. Tristan hadn't yet come into any contact with anyone at the farm, at least nothing more than a hello here and there, and it was annoying him but he wasn't desperate for friends, he had his horses and he was still reeling from Emily's death and every girl seemed to have something in common with her.
words: 420+ thoughts: I know it's kinda like eh but I'm doing to much at once. xD

Josie had been eager to ride War all day, however she had many other priorities that were above riding horses, although she would have preferred to do nothing other than ride of course. Finally, she was back at RERA from the various non important things she had to be doing all day long. The smells of horses, and fresh hay entered her nostrils and she gladly inhaled the smells as she moved toward the large barn. It was an amazing beautiful day out, the sun was shining and though there was a light breeze, Josie could not be bothered by it in the least. Almost in a rush, Josie walked as fast as she could over to her big black gelding's stall, he nickered at her the moment she saw her and immediately trotted over to her. She petted his nose gently, grabbing his halter she slid it over his head and lead him toward the barn to tack up.
She felt excited as she quickly brushed him and placed the saddle pad on his back, then the saddle, she did up the girth easily, War waiting very patiently for her to put the bridle on. She swiftly, as well as gently did so, patting his neck after she was done. Josie grabbed her helmet and put it on before she lead War to the inside ring and began to walk him around, to allow his muscle to warm up. She sent him forward into a trot, doing a few figure eights in the ring before she decided it might be better to ride outside. She dismounted, leading him out of the barn and into the beautiful day. Josie led War into the outside ring and mounted from the ground, having practiced this so much she was sure she was officially a pro by now.
She glanced over at another person in the ring, by the looks of it, he was a guy. Josie adjusted herself in the saddle, making sure her helmet was tight, War just stood still, waiting for direction. She led him around, again starting at a walk then eventually moving into a trot, she passed the guy and smiled politely at him. "Hi." She muttered as the pair quickly moved past.

Tristan saw the girl but it didn't register in his occupied mind that she'd said anything until he was already heading away from her. Reaching up he pulled on ear bud out of his ear and glanced over his shoulder. "Hey." He called back to her though quickly turned his attention back onto his bay horse, settling back into the saddle as he asked the stallion for a canter.
He was used to riding around other people since where his mother worked there was usually at least one other person in the ring at a time and where his father worked Tristan helped exercise the studs though he did that with at least one other person since the Thoroughbreds that his father bred were a tad bit unstable, at least in Tristan's opinion. Having the girl in the ring was nothing to him, or to Time who was still under Tristan's influence.
The only problem that the girl created for Tristan was now all he could see was Emily, she'd been his little 'true love' and she'd gotten injured jumping and it had been that injury that led to her suicide. Tristan hardly noticed that his mind was wandering and that he was no longer bothering to control Time until the stallion swerved towards a jump and Tristan had to use everything he could to bring the horse back in line before the stallion took a two foot jump and Tristan took a two foot and something fall to the ground.
"Shit." Tristan muttered softly figuring to the girl he probably looked like a beginner who couldn't even control his horse. That thought managed to push Emily back into the box where she and her memories belonged unless Tristan was alone, that thought got Tristan to bring Time back under control and got him working with his horse instead of letting the stallion do the work.
words: 327 thoughts: eek. xD I felt like I was rambling so I shut-up.
