Denali Nobody seemed to be outside today. Perhaps a ride through the woods with Romeo? When tacked up, she strode along the trail next to him, then mounted. It was still bitter cold even though the sun was out.
Two crows cooed and cried at each other probably secretly fawning over the next victim robin. Romeo grunted and Dane’s imagination lurched to a stop. Sighing she tipped Romeo and into a canter. Faster, one roll, two now ten. They were moving in harmony and she felt her sanity rip from her. Horseback riding was the only thing that made since to her. Finally gliding, swooping, the wounded butterflies healed themselves.
Denali found her way to the lake; it was a beautiful sight indeed. Dismounting she tied the stallion to a large oak tree that hung over the lake like a phantom. Perfect. Grinning deviously, she ripped at the sleeve of her pink tank until it was off and soon she stood at the world in only her under glory. She shivered and arched her back to keep in as much heat as possible.
Climbing up the tree was a struggle in bare feet. Dane perched on one off the damp mossy branches directly over the lake. Exhaling her blue optics fluttered shut and she let herself fall. It hit her like a thousand knives jabbing all over her body. The breath got knocked out of her like somebody had punched her in the gut with brass knuckles. Did she forget how cold it was? Gasping at the surface, she sketched the surface and saw Rome right where she left him. The crows continued to moan.

JACQUELINE SCHMIDT Jacqui found it difficult to drive in her winter riding gear. Even though the indoor arena was heated and all, she planned on doing something new today: riding outside, in the snow. As she stepped out of the car, the cold hit her exposed skin, of which there was little left. Her nose turned red almost immediately, but she pressed on.
Jacqui welcomed the warm barn. She walked into the aisle and turned to greet Kerry. "Hey buddy... guess what? You're going to have to tolerate the riding blanket," she told her gelding. He backed away from the stall door as she rolled it open and walked in. His blanket was quickly draped over the bar on the stall door.
In a few minutes, Jacqui had Kerry tacked up, including the dreaded riding blanket. She led him outside and adjusted her face coverings so her nose didn't stick out. She put one foot in the stirrup and swung up. With Kerry still at a halt, she pulled the blanket over her thighs and tucked the ends under her saddle. Jacqui nudged Kerry's sides gently and he walked on.
The pair followed fresh hoofprints leading to the lake. Jacqui let Kerry get used to the cold, then struck up a trot. It was difficult to post properly with the blanket on, so Jacqui just held a half-seat. Kerry moved freely underneath her, taking his own path through the woods.
They arrived at the lake just in time to see a woman fall from a tree into the lake. Jacqui gasped and pulled the blanket from underneath the saddle. She swung off and hit the ground running. Kerry was confused for a moment until he felt the tug on his bridle; Jacqui had not dropped the reins. He trotted on, happy to be moving.
"My god, are you insane?!" she called out to the woman.

Denali Denali could feel the hostile water burn at her skin. It was the only way to heal the raw edges of her heart that bleed from impairment. She did miss the little love affair with Dylan. It was short but romantic. And of course in Dane’s superstitious mind, Dylan reminded her of Iron and Wine. Whenever she would hear an Iron and Wine song, his persistent image would pop in her brain. Jon reminded her of Bob Dylan, Sadie of Jefferson Airplane, Nicky of The Vines and Kenny of Bryan Adams. She would be one big walking heap of musical idolatry baggage. She dipped her head under the black water once more. When she came back up to the razor like surface, she found Rome in the same place as before but a blond haired girl running to the edge with a young naïve gelding at her heels. His tail was raised high almost giving the impression of being high off of life. This horse was pretty damn epic. The girl looked terrified. Dane twisted and turned to get more near the mossy coast. She grinned at the girl, flickered her beryl eyes and replied in a dippy tone. My god perhaps I am insane my dear, care to join me? Denali splashed some of the cold water at the blond girl. She missed. Everything below the neck was under water, and only her dripping neck and head were exposed. Or perhaps you can get me Romeie’s blanket so I could get out, maybe she was being a bit eccentric. She weaved a web of ominious ideas around the girl, trapping her. She waited for blondie’s reply with the same devious expression.

JACQUELINE SCHMIDT Jacqui's eyes widened marginally when she noticed the woman in the lake didn't even have any clothes on. Swimming in the middle of January was one thing; skinny-dipping in the middle of January was quite another. She shook her head vigorously when invited in. Instead, she dropped Kerry's reins and rushed to the stallion tied to a tree.
With skilled hands, Jacqui removed his blanket and held it in front of her. She averted her gaze away from the naked woman, preferring to look at Kerry, who was now munching grass. "What on Earth possessed you to go skinny-dipping in January?" she asked, her eyes still on Kerry.
ooc:// le muse... it be gone!
